If you know me, then you know I am a sunset chaser. I will go to the depths of the world to find the best spots wherever I am to find them. I have already been to most of the amazing sunset spots in Washington, D.C., but Whiskey Charlie is going to give all those other locations a run for their money. You will be hard pressed to find a better place to watch the sunset in the district over the water.

Say hello to your new hang out, Whiskey Charlie.

Whiskey Charlie
Located on the Penthouse level of the Canopy Washington, D.C. in the Wharf, a newly opened development in Washington, D.C. Whisky Charlie is bringing the sophistication with their sleek design of an indoor-outdoor bar and patio, allowing their guests to freely roam between the two of staying in the sun or watching the sky light up in its various shades during the sunset.

The Food:
The food menu is coined as “clever finger food” and that it is. Small plates, or as I like to think of them as sharing plates – so you can order a few different things and try more of them!
Farmstead Cheese Board
Pimento Dip
Beef Sliders
My favorites were the house-made cheese empanadas and the tuna tartare. Historically I would not have even eaten the tuna but I gave it a go and I LOVE IT! I highly recommend it. I found it to be very fresh and light.

The Drinks:
Try an Iconic Cocktail or have a beer or wine. My favorite drink off the menu is the Mermaid Margarita, made with Tequila, Grapefruit, Averna, and Agave. It wasn’t overly sweet or dry – it was just perfect!

The bar also serves “tankards” which are larger drinks that are designed for 4-6 people. I did not have that many people to share it with so I could not get one – but if you and your friends are out, this would be a fun drink to get. It is just a larger version of the bar drinks.
Overall – I loved the rooftop views you get from Whiskey Charlie. No two sunsets are the same but I was really treated well to an amazing sunset of cotton candy layers. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere vibes from the bar itself. Everything flowed really well and the conversations were great.

Thank you for sharing this!! The ambiance looks amazing, as does the food. I love sunsets and I def think the view is a PLUS. I don’t roll in to DC much, but will keep this in mind and grab a drink here. (Thumbs up!)
What a beautiful view! I absolutely love DC so I’ll have to remember to check this place out on my next trip there.

OMG! This looks awesome, and I love a great view. If only I was in or near D.C. I will definitely add Whiskey Charlies to my list of places to go when I’m in D.C. next.
For now, I’ll have to settle for the panoramic ocean views in San Diego. š
Beautiful place to chill while watching the sunset! The tuna tartar looks very good something I would definitely order but the mini burgers looks quite boring and dry to be honest!
What a gorgeous place. I would love to have a drink and eat here. So pretty.
Wow, I’m amazed, what a beautiful and calming time it would be watching sunset with the glass of drink. I’m sure this outlet will rock
