Afternoon Tea is one of my favorite indulgences. Whether I do it at home or in my travels, it gives me some time to wind down and enjoy good conversations over delicious snacks and tea/champagne.
I have been to the Ritz Carlton in Tyson’s Corner about 5 times and every time it gets better. It is very close to my house and I love the hotel and food there.
On my visit today, my friend and I decided to splurge and we went with the Royal Tea package – which came with a glass of Rose & strawberries with fresh cream and drizzled with Grand Marnier in addition to the tea, sweets, and tea sandwiches. We were there for almost 3 hours to finish everything and hang out.
My favorite tea is Darjeeling – which is a black tea from India. Fun fact, the leaves are actually from China but grown in India.
After we ate our sandwiches, out came a gorgeous display of sweets. Also included with the sweets is jam, cream, and lemon curd.
How does one even choose where to start? My favorite was the currant scone with the the fresh whipped cream and the lemon curd! The scone was so soft and delicious.
After we thought we were done … out came huge glasses full of strawberries and cream with the Grand Marnier.
Overall – loved the afternoon tea here! I ended up bringing stuff home because I could not finish it, so I have treats for tomorrow now.
The hotel does offer seasonal Afternoon Teas throughout the year.
