Hammock Cove Antigua: Luxury, Adults Only, All-Inclusive

Once in a while I stumble on an incredible boutique property when looking for places to travel to, and Hammock Cove Antigua was exactly that!

I have been to Antigua a couple times and absolutely love the area. There is so many great things to do in Antigua, including the 365 beaches they offer!

You can imagine my surprise to discover this 5 star luxury resort that I had never even heard of, because it is relatively new, and everything was perfection.

The deciding factor in me booking this resort on a moments notice was that they had private pools in the villas, it was adults-only, all-inclusive, and had a Michelin trained chef on property.

I have a video tour of my stay both on Instagram and Tiktok

Hammock Cove Antigua

As soon as you walk into the lobby, you will notice how spacious and beautiful it is. There are a lot of areas on site to lounge, hang with new friends, have a private drink and enjoy the view, and so on.

Walking beyond the entry way, you will noticed the three tiered pool overlooks the stunning Caribbean waters. You will feel right at home.

Getting there:

Getting to Antigua is relatively easy. Several major airline carriers service the island. New York and Miami tend to have several non-stop flights per day.

I came from the DC area and connected in Miami for my final flight to the island. I fly American Airlines but there are other airlines that fly.

Once I landed and went through immigration and luggage, I just grabbed a taxi outside. They take USD, so make sure to have cash on you. The cost was about $40 each way and I gave a $10 tip (this is at your discretion). The drive was about 25 minutes away.

Rooms

What I loved most about this property is that they offer just 42 villas of uninterrupted luxury. The property is not big at all. You can easily stroll the grounds.

There are only two room category types and the rooms are identical. The only thing that changes is the view.

There is a water view room and a waterfront room. I wanted a waterfront room because the room would be looking directly at water. In my honest opinion, this is the best category.

The water view rooms are all set behind the waterfront rooms and slightly elevated, so you will be overlooking rooms before you see the water. While the view may not matter to you, I also felt there was a level of privacy with the waterfront rooms that the water view rooms did not have.

No one can walk in front of your room on the waterfront, but the main road of the property runs between the two categories of rooms. Something to consider when booking.

Both rooms come in at 1076 square feet, which is extremely generous living space for a villa.

Starting in the bedroom when you walk in, you will be greeted with a comfy king bed, desk area, dual nightstands with lamps, a coffee and tea station, TV, a selection of books in the desk area, a ceiling fan, AC, and doors leading out to your outdoor living space.

On your deck you will find your plunge pool, a bistro table set, loungers, regular chairs, a swinging chair, and a wet bar that you can get stocked with whatever they offer.

Back inside, you have an equally massive and stunning bathroom! One end of the room is the glass shower, complete with four rain heads! You will also find dual sinks, private toilet area and access to the walk in closet, where there is also a safe and plenty of storage.

Dining + Drinks

One area that this resort truly shines is in the food. Never once had a bad meal – the food is top notch.. and if you have been to an all-inclusive before, you know they can be hit or miss.

Hammock Cove Antigua was a HIT! Unequivocally.

The first thing I noticed on arrival was that room service was available 24 hours a day. Perfect.

Starting with breakfast, I ate both in Irina’s Bistro and did a room service breakfast out by the pool overlooking the ocean.

Both were outstanding. I only did room service once because I like to order more things LOL – and in the restaurant you can get things right away.

Irina’s also serves lunch and dinner daily. You can stop in and see what is on the menu.

Full disclosure – I never once ate dinner at Irina’s because I ate at Lighthouse first and was entranced immediately to never eat dinner elsewhere. My travel partner said the exact same thing – so we ate dinner at Lighthouse every night with no regrets.

The chef is a Michelin trained chef and it is very evident in the food. Sensational. The is all I can offer.

Each day the resort offers “culinary delights” that are in addition to the restaurants, bars and room service!

When I was there, some of the things offered, and it is only one thing per day, were: a beach BBQ, caviar and bubbles on the beach, rum tasting, and there was a sushi event the day I left.

On the days I was not there, the resort schedule had: a seven course dining experience, a cooking demo and  seafood grill on the beach.

In addition to food, there are several bars on property in addition to the wet bar in your villa.

On The Rock’s Bar is on the ground level by the beach and pool, the Chairman’s Lounge is on the top floor of the lobby, Nobody Knows bar is tucked behind the Lighthouse Restaurant, the Lighthouse Bar sits right in front of the entry to Lighthouse, and you can get drinks at the bar in front of Irina’s.

The bottom line on food and drinks is that you will never go hungry or thirsty. Everything was amazing!

Amenities

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. I know a lot of resorts add a charge for this on a per day basis, but not here.

On property you have access to two beaches, a three tiered infinity edge pool, water sports (like clear kayaking, standup paddle boarding, etc), pickleball courts, a gym, daily afternoon tea, and so much more.

Devil’s Bridge sits right behind the property and you can easily walk over there in about 5 minutes – just wear proper tennis shoes!

Hammock Cove also has a spa, wine tastings, private romantic dinners, and more – but these are an extra cost.

How I booked and what I paid

For my stay at Hammock Cove Antigua, I booked on hotels.com. I stayed January 13-16th, for three nights. A couple things of note – the resort only offers two room categories. I booked a waterVIEW on hotels.com, but I wanted a waterFRONT room. So I had to upgrade through the resort.

The total for the three nights on hotels.com was $5081.55.

At the resort my bill came to: $938. That included the upgrade cost which was just over $600, a half day tour for two people, resort fees and taxes.

Airfare will change drastically based on where you live, when you book, when you visit, etc.

My total resort stay with a tour was $6019.55

Why did I book on hotels.com? Because they had the cheapest rate AND after you pay and stay 10 nights with their booking, they give you an 11th night for free equal to the average of the previous 10 nights.

I also want to note that the taxi service was about $40 each way plus tip. So $100 round trip.
