Recently I had the opportunity to visit Sandals South Coast to try out two of their new room categories. Both the South Seas Swim-Up Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary and the Over The Water Butler Honeymoon Bungalow.
This is one of the most beautiful properties, in my opinion, in the Sandals Resorts chain. The property is very big and has a lot to offer its guests.
A wide range of room categories, culinary offerings and activities are available. You could do nothing all day and sit on the beach or do everything. The choice is yours!
Sandals South Coast
Getting to Sandals South Coast is easy! Once you land in Montego Bay, depending on what room category you booked, you will either take a shuttle to the resort or a private luxury transfer via BMW.
The ride is about an hour and a half and goes by fast.
While Sandals South Coast has a multitude of rooms to choose from, I want to highlight both room categories I stayed in. Both of them were unique in their own way and absolutely fantastic.
The first four nights of my trip I stayed in the newest room category, the South Seas Swim-Up Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary.
What I love about this room was that it is one floor and stand alone, like a home, and it connects to water way that the other Rondoval’s are on. You get a private plunge pool, the bigger water way, indoor and outdoor shower, indoor and outdoor dining area, lush king sized bed, plush seating in the live in area with a TV and work station, and a bathroom with a free standing dual sided mirror/vanity, tranquility soaking tub, and toilet.
There is ample closet space and a lot of shelving to store your items during your trip.
The beach is less than a two minute walk and you can easily access Latitudes overwater sunset bar! My favorite place to get a drink.
The last two nights of my trip I stayed in the Over The Water Butler Honeymoon Bungalow.
What I loved about this over the water room was that I never left it once I arrived with the exception for one dinner. That may sound strange, but the reality is, a lot of people choose to stay in these rooms because the resort makes it so comfortable for you.
In the room you have a butler pantry that has a bar stocked with whatever premium alcohol you want, a coffee machine that does everything, a fridge stocked to your liking, king sized bed, glass bottom floor area to see the marine life, plush seating, TV, open floor plan bathroom with beautiful sink, separate toilet, shower that also leads to an outdoor shower, closet space, and then the deck with a hammock, outdoor tranquility soaking tub, seating areas, your own water float, and a ladder to get in and out of the ocean.
In addition, you get a special butlers menu for room service that is dedicated only to the over the water rooms. The food is amazing and you don’t really need to go anywhere else, unless you want to!
There are a set of private beach cabanas for over the water bungalow guests to use on the beach in front of the rooms. Just ask your butler to set one up and they will bring out a cooler of your favorite drinks and anything else you want.
What is Included?
This luxury included vacation really includes everything. There are nine restaurants on site to choose from as well as bars, multiple pools, swim up bars, a cabaret, nightly activities and themed nights, beach as far as the eye can see, and room service is available in Butler level rooms.
During my stay I dined at Jasmine’s Asian Cuisine, Bayside Restaurant, Schooners Seafood Grill, Giuseppe’s, and had a lot of room service.
*Note on Allergies*
If you have an allergy, let your butler or resort know. Sandals is known for taking care of their guests. My husband is Celiac and they always provide him with amazing gluten free options and he is always happy as can be!
Activities that are included are: paddle boarding, kayaks, water skiing, snorkeling, sailboats, tubbing, scuba diving, and more!
What’s Not Included
Very few things are not included in the all inclusive rate at Sandals South Coast. Here are the few things not included:
- Spa treatments
- Specialty private dinner on the beach
- Special wine menu offerings in the restaurants
I want to note, this is my second time doing the private dinner on the beach and the food is fantastic. It is nothing you can find on the menus in the other restaurants and you can have dinner during sunset. The resort really makes it special for you.
The spa is also amazing! I almost always utilize the spa when visiting Sandals properties and they do a fantastic job. On this trip, I did a Himalayan stone massage and I cannot express into words how incredible it was. It was exactly what my body needed. I highly recommend getting a couples massage or going solo and pampering yourself. You deserve it!
When you get Butler Elite service, you are getting an even higher level of service during your stay that is customized. Here are my favorite ways to utilize the Butler Elite service:
- You can get room service dinner from any of the restaurants on site, not just what is on the room service menu
- I like to get a pizza delivered everyday between 1-2pm for lunch/snack
- Your Butler will stock your in-room bar and fridge with whatever you like
- You can ask to get a special romantic bubble bath and they will set it up with bubbles and flowers
- Get champagne delivered by the bottle everyday and just celebrate life
- Cocktails delivered in room or wherever you are on property
- Have beach or pool chairs reserved with a cooler stocked with your favorite beverages
- Lunch brought to you anywhere on property
- Reservations and activities made for you whenever you want
- When you stay in the over the water bungalows, you get a room service menu just for that room category, and it is incredible!
