Know before you go:
- You will need to fly into Bora Bora from either Tahiti, Mo’orea or one of the surrounding islands that offer airfare. Air Tahiti services the island with multiple flights per day. The flight time from Tahiti is about 50 minutes and from Mo’orea about 40 minutes.
- Air Tahiti does have strict luggage requirements, however, they do not charge for luggage if you meet the requirements. Just make sure your suitcases and weight limits are not exceeded and you will be fine.
- There is no seat selection for the flight and everyone lines up to get on the plane. It is a smaller plane with less than 100 seats. If you want the VERY BEST view of Bora Bora coming or going, I recommend window seats 1-5 on the right side of the plane facing forward
- When you arrive to Bora Bora, you will walk off the plane and into the small airport where you will get your luggage.
- The Four Seasons will pick you up here at the airport in a boat and take you to the resort.
- You do need to book your transfer in advance.
- The cost is $150 per person round trip. There is also an option to get a private boat, you will need to check with the hotel for pricing.
- Check in time is at 2:00pm and check out is at 11:00am. The hotel is pretty strict on those times due to the quick turnover of rooms. Showing up early is ok though! You can still enjoy the resort, get something to eat, lounge at the pool, or even go to the beach.
- The official currency in Bora Bora is French Pacific franc, however, credit card is accepted. You won’t technically need cash at the hotel unless you are tipping your housekeeper. If you plan to leave the resort and go to Vaitape, the mainland, you can access an ATM there. If you come in through Tahiti, you can access a money exchange or ATM in the airport.
- If you want to go to the mainland, Vaitape, the hotel offers a shuttle once a day and the cost is about $25 per person.
- Don’t forget travel insurance.
