Steak houses are one of those places that are readily accessible, but no two are the same, which gives Bourbon Steak DC its own category. I would argue in 90%+ of restaurants you can order some form of steak, at a minimum for those who do not like the house specialties (assuming you are not a steak house).
But let’s be honest, we aren’t running off to a vegetarian restaurant to get the one piece of steak they have for the carnivore who comes in. When you want a steak, you go to a steak house. When you want a delicious, high quality steak made right, you go to Bourbon Steak DC!
Bourbon Steak is celebrating 10 years on January 20th and is having a 10 year anniversary brunch. You can get tickets here – a portion of proceeds will be going to the No Kid Hungry initiative.

Bourbon Steak DC: The Appetizers
A lot of restaurants offer something to snack on while you wait for your food, and Bourbon Steak DC doesn’t disappoint in this area. Three words: duck fat fries. This is a “mind blown” fry experience. In this set of fries, Bourbon Steak DC brings three flavored fries with 3 sauces to enjoy.

In addition, delicious buttery rolls come to the table as well.

We wanted to try some of the appetizers on the menu and went with the oysters and shrimp. The seafood is fantastic! Probably the best oysters I have had and the shrimp were massive, just the way I love it.

Bourbon Steak DC: Main Entrees
I am a sucker for a rib-eye. I think it is one of the best cuts of beef and offers the most flavor, via being marbled in. You could cook a rib-eye with no seasoning an it would still be incredible. The steaks here were magnificent. What they are doing with beef is not like anywhere else in the city I have been to.
Every slice of the knife is like cutting through butter, and every bite just melts like cotton candy. It’s that good.

We tried some sides to go along with the steak and my personal favorite was the brussels sprouts. We also shared the whipped potatoes and sherry-glazed mushrooms!

In retrospect, we selected everything that went perfect together. All the food complimented each dish and every single bite had that “wow” factor.
Bourbon Steak DC: Dessert
I am a sucker for visually pleasing or interactive food, so naturally I gravitated towards the smoked s’mores dessert. This dessert comes out under a hood and you can visibly see smoke is in there giving your dessert that campfire taste you remember as a child.
Made up of chocolate praline mousse, toasted marshmallow ice cream and hazelnut streusel, this dessert is sure to bring back memories of making s’mores over the fire.

Bourbon Steak DC: Seasonal Igloo
Bourbon Steak DC offers its visitors outdoor igloos that you can reserve and they are available through March. We did cocktails in there, but the option for food is available as well.
The igloos are outfitted to keep you warm. There are couches and/or chairs and the igloo is clear. If there is snow, I would imagine its a magical spot.
Bourbon Steak DC: Final thoughts
I’ve said this before, steak houses are everywhere. Do your research – if you want a good steak steak, go anywhere. If you want an incredible dining experience that will be memorable and keep you coming back, go to Bourbon Steak DC!
