Bali
If you are looking for the best places to stay in Bali, then you have come to the right place. This article is in collaboration with other travel writers and we pulled together all our favorites. Bali is one of those destinations that many dream of visiting and have no idea how far money can go there. You can get private pool villas in some areas of Bali for under $100 USD a night!
The hospitality in Bali is unparalleled. I can remember visiting various resorts and just being blown away at how kind everyone is and how amazing the service is. With that being said, below is a list of some of the best places to stay in Bali.
Best Places To Stay In Bali: Southern
Kayumanis Jimbaran
One of the best places to stay in Bali is in Jimbaran at Kayumanis. This property is not very large in terms of number of rooms, but each room is an estate. You can get a 1-2 bedroom estate n(that is most likely bigger than your home) that comes enclosed with a private pool, outdoor bathroom with shower and tub, king size bed, full kitchen and living space, butler, daily afternoon tea, and daily breakfast.
Kayumanis Jimbaran is an enclave that offers sensational food, the ultimate luxury experience with unparalleled service and privacy, and that true Bali villa experience you are after. I loved that the butler filled my bath with flowers for me as a surprise to relax when I got back to my room.
Kayumanis Jimbaran
My favorite features of the estate were the private plunge pool and the chairs and lounger to relax on. You could hang out poolside all day in the privacy of your room and have food delivered by your butler. Another bonus was the daily restocked mini fridge that included local beer!

Intercontinental Bali

The Intercontinental Bali was one of the best places to stay in Bali. It was located right on Jimbaran Beach, known for the best sunsets in Bali. And we spent many a romantic night watching the sun set! The long white sandy beach right at our door was irresistible.
A short walk down the beach took us to the local fish fry. We listened to music and the sound of the pounding waves while we had fresh seafood and cold drinks. It was fun for all ages!
The Intercontinental Bali resort property provided us with the perfect spot to relax. Hammocks and massages by the beach were a special treat! We moved from pool to pool before we headed to the spa. The customer service was excellent! Every morning my coffee came with a personalized message! It was a great spot to use as a base to explore the island for a week in Bali. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Jamahal Villas
Jamahal Villas
These luxury villas are worth every penny and one of the best places to stay in Bali. Why? Because you deserve to feel royalty even if only for a week’s vacation. For starters, the staff at the Jamahal Villas will attend to your every need. The food that you are served is that of a five-star restaurant.
You will hardly feel the need to go out for dinner when you can get a great meal there! You will get your very own private, quiet space, perfect for relaxing and remembering why you came there. If you are with a spouse or partner, you will feel reconnected and close to them.
It’s only 8 minutes to the beach and only 4 kilometers from Jimbaran Village. Your villa will feature free Wi-Fi, minibar, DVD player with a flat-screen TV, and a butler if you choose (do it!)
You also get access to a private beach club, a fitness room, and a spa, and you can even attend yoga if you feel like it. It’s definitely my favorite luxury villa in Bali!

Belmond Jimbaran Puri Bali Resort
Belmond Jimbaran Puri Bali Resort
Belmond Jimbaran Puri Bali Resort is by far our favorite place and one of the best places to stay in Bali. Located in the heart of the Jimbaran Bay, you are only a short 25-minute drive from the Denpasar Airport to the North and a 15-minute beach walk from all the beach bars. It is luxurious resort and it is a great option for either couples or families. We loved everything about this resort and we enjoyed getting spoiled with all the 5-star service.
The accommodation at this resort is sensational. As we are a family of five, we chose a two-bedroom luxurious pool villa to stay in, and it was awesome. In actual fact, the rooms were essentially two separate houses, one for us and one for our kids. We had our own courtyard and our own pool. The villa even comes with its own butler. Perfect!
The Belmond resort offers a tonne of activities as well, including traditional dancing and cooking classes, excursions to the local markets, beach front massages, and a variety of water sports. We enjoyed a variety of classes, but what we enjoyed the most was the blissful relaxation with a cocktail or two by the infinity pool.
What better way to spend a holiday that to watch your kids having fun in the pool, whilst enjoying sea breeze, palm trees and a perfect sunset over the ocean. Definitely one of our favorite family-friendly resorts in Bali, and a great choice for anyone who wishes to spoil themselves with a bit of luxury.

Best Places To Stay In Bali: Airbnb
Hideout Bali
Hideout Bali
If you want a unique and memorable experience in Bali, I recommend staying in one of the Airbnb’s at Hideout Bali. They have 3 different bamboo houses that are available to rent via Airbnb. You’ll be staying in the middle of the jungle in your own Eco Bamboo House, and it has everything needed. The owners are very friendly, and you even get to use a motorbike if you need or want to go somewhere.
I’ve personally stayed in their Hideout Lightroom Bamboo House, and seen the other two bamboo houses as well. The prices ranges from about 150 Euro per night, but you need to book well in advance since they are almost always sold out 1-2 months in advance.
If you ever dreamed of staying in a bamboo house outside in the jungle, this place is it, and the easily one of the best places to stay in Bali. At Hideout Lightroom, there’s even an outdoor bathtub and shower + power outlets and Wi-Fi. We even saw some fireflies glowing up in the dark.
All in all, it’s one of the best experiences one can get in Bali. There are also beautiful rice terraces and villages about 5-10 minutes driving that are far less visited than the more popular Tegalalang Rice Terraces.
Best Places To Stay In Bali: Central
Bisma Eight
In terms of best places to stay in Bali, Bisma Eight does not disappoint. Bisma Eight offers an inner city, boutique luxury hotel experience to its visitors and its location is walking distance to main attractions in Ubud, including the Monkey Forest!
Bisma Eight has spacious rooms, onsen soaking tubs, gorgeous decor, and fabulous hospitality. When you arrive at Bisma Eight you will be blown away by how gorgeous it is the moment you walk in. Even outside, in the jungle is breathtaking.
One of the best parts of the hotel is the infinity pool overlooking the jungle. You can lounge and catch an amazing sunset here.
Four Seasons Sayan
Four Seasons Sayan
There are dozens of beautiful jungle retreats on the Island of the Gods, but none can compare to the style and service of the Four Seasons Sayan at Bali. Located near Ubud, the spiritual center of Bali, The Four Seasons Sayan effortlessly integrates the elements of the outdoors into this jungle hideaway. The Four Seasons Sayan at Bali has created a cocoon of intimacy, with 60 villas and suites, nestled along the Ayung River, and one of the best places to stay in Bali.
While the rooms at the Four Seasons Sayan are impeccable, the location is picturesque, and the amenities are plentiful, it all pales in comparison to the five-star service. The staff at the Four Seasons Sayan at Bali greet everyone with a warm smile, anticipate the needs of every guest, and effortlessly execute the wishes of guests to deliver the greatest Balinese vacation.
Even though all of the rooms are beautifully decorated, we highly recommend staying in one of the pool villas which are equipped with outdoor showers, an outdoor lounge area, a king-sized canopy bed, and a plunge pool overlooking the jungle.
Kayumanis Ubud
Kayumanis Ubud
When you book a room at Kayumanis Ubud, you are booking pure luxury. Your entire villa is closed off by walls of greenery and on the inside is your room, outdoor living space and private pool. Kayumanis Ubud is easily one of the best hotels in Bali.
The staff at this property are exceptionally hospitable and are always adding thoughtful touches. One night I came back to my room and they had run a flower bath for me to relax on my birthday! That was very sweet of them.
Kayumanis Ubud
Some of the best perks of staying at this hotel are: included daily any time breakfast, welcome massage, daily stocked minibar, and butler service.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat when I return to Bali.
Udhiana Resort
The Udhiana Resort is a secluded hotel just outside of the centre of Ubud, in a quiet area surrounded by lush palm trees and greenery. All of the bedrooms are private villas, with sliding glass doors, a balcony and a private plunge pool, making it one of the best places to stay in Bali.
The most special thing about staying at the Udhiana Resort is its incredible surrounding scenery. The villas, restaurant and bar all perched on a hilltop, looking down over genuinely breathtaking green forest views below. There’s also a highly Instagram-worthy infinity pool with the most scenic backdrop I’ve ever seen.
As well as the pool, I loved the free afternoon tea that was served to guests each day, featuring a selection of Balinese snacks on a traditional afternoon tea stand. Overall, it’s a very romantic resort, and creates exactly the kind of luxurious tropical hotel experience you want from a trip to Bali!
The Udhiana Resort is a bit of a walk outside of Ubud. However, the hotel provides a free shuttle service into town several times a day.
Temples and Treehouses
Agunk Raka
Agunk Raka
One of the best places to stay in Bali while spending a month there was in Ubud at Agunk Raka Resort and Villa. Being hours away from the beach, we were not expecting to have such a relaxing time and wonderful time at this resort.
Agunk Raka has different types of accommodation sprawling throughout a gorgeous backdrop of rice paddies. The winding paths through the perfectly cured grounds lead to private villas, complete with your own infinity pool, or entire 3 story houses complete with gorgeous Balinese architecture and decor.
The resort also has 3 pools, one being an infinity pool overlooking a picturesque view of palm trees growing among the rice paddies. What we most loved about this resort was the exceptional service where they would bring you cocktails with umbrellas poolside and also the delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner they served.
The resort even has its’ own spa service where you can enjoy relaxing massages under an outdoor canopy while soaking in the gorgeous view. If traveling to Ubud, Bali- you should definitely stay at Agunk Raka Resort and Villas, it will not disappoint!
Soori Bali
Soori Bali
On a recent trip to Bali, my husband and I decided to stay in two very different locations, one by the beach and another in the jungle. The beach location was hands down my favourite! Soori Bali is a five-star luxury hotel located in the beautiful Tabanan region. We opted for the Ocean Pool Villa with our very own butler.
The rooms are spacious, almost 3,000 square feet, and luxurious with views of the Indian Ocean and direct access to the beach. The pool villas have their very own private pool so you can alternate between taking a dip in the ocean or enjoy the privacy of your villa.
We indulged in a spa treatment every day, sometimes twice a day during our stay. There is a wide range of treatments like Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Balinese Massage, Four Hands Massage and much more. Another highlight was watching the sunset over the Indian ocean from our villa every evening before dinner, it is spectacular! Every morning we woke up and enjoyed breakfast on our private deck with the sounds of the waves crashing it the background. There are three dining options on the resort, and our preferred restaurant was Ombak. I highly recommend this resort, it is one of the best places to stay in Bali!
