This summer was the first time I have returned back to Maine in ten years. It was a long time coming and I am glad I made the visit. I explored cities I had never been too, took a Maine Windjammer cruise, and ate a lot of delicious food.
For the first part of my trip I stayed in Rockland where the Lobster Festival was happening. I stayed at 250 Main Hotel (which I highly recommend because it is gorgeous, located perfectly, comfortable, and the staff is amazing) and that overlooks the harbor shining the best sunrises.
During the middle of my trip I ventured over to nearby town Rockport and stayed at Samoset Resort. This resort is so gorgeous and sits perfectly on the coast overlooking West Penobscot Bay. There aren’t a lot of resorts in the area but Samoset is a nice retreat if you are looking for something other than a boutique property or bed and breakfast.
For the last part of my trip I took a Windjammer cruise out of Rockport with J & E Riggin. What an adventure and something completely new to me! This is a must if you love sailing, being on the water, and/or are looking for something new to do.
I gathered all my favorite photos from the trip to share with you and I hope it inspires you to visit the great state of Maine.
A lot of you ask me what camera I shoot with and it is this Canon. You can read more about my equipment here.

Do you have any recommendations for mid-range hotels? I honestly could never afford to stay at some of these hotels BUT I would still love to visit maine. Do you think that there are certain hotels/brand of hotels that you’d recommend that the mid-price range traveler should look for?
It looks like a beautiful state, I’ll definitely have to visit sometime. Thanks for sharing 🙂
