On my recent trip through Michigan I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at St John’s in Livonia, Michigan. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in my 32 years of existence but this one surprised me the most. This hotel deserves more than 5 stars on a luxury scale. The hotel is immaculate, the modern decor, overly spacious rooms, attentive staff, and size of the property make it quite the spectacular property.
Rooms:
The hotel offers 118 luxury rooms including two Ambassador Suites and two Presidential Suites. Some of the amenities you will find in the room are:
- Crown molding
- 12 foot ceilings
- Free wifi
- Granite counters
- Luxurious bath products
- Over-sized tubs and showers
- Beautiful customer furniture
- and so much more!
During my stay I stayed in an Ambassador Suite and was completely blown away from the second I opened the door.

Sunset from my balcony
The Ambassador Suite was about 960 sq. feet and had plenty of room to host other people and share the space. My favorite part was the jetted tub and the balcony to watch the AMAZING sunsets from.
Dining:
I did not get the chance to eat at the hotel but they do have a restaurant on property called 5ive Restaurant. The food looked amazing and I regret not having the time to dine there.
Other property features:
The Inn has a pool, golf course, chapel, and banquet and wedding facilities.

Oh my gosh! This place looks incredible – and the views from your balcony look outstanding! What a great place to stay.
The pool and bathtub are also winners in my books – did you have time to have a little soak?
This place looks seriously amazing! Everything looks just perfect and so luxurious, and this steak made me hungry. 🙂 I would feel like a princess if I stayed there, hehe.
Detroit is one of my favorit cities on the planet earth. so i always love getting new inspirations about the area. next time i am there i will definitely check that place out 🙂
This could never be in our budget but a beautiful place. I have never been to Detroit or anywhere in Michigan for that matter. I have always wanted to visit and the once home of American industry at its finest. I know that it is not the place it once was but would still enjoy a trip there. Based on your photos this certainly deserves the full 5 stars.
the pool area is so amazing. i wish i can go there now. the place looks so incredibly awesome!
The pool looks quite small or is it just on the photos? Love the golf course view though and the restaurant looks fancy.
I love the carpets in the lobby. That is so pretty! And palm trees IN the pool? What kid wouldn’t find that really cool? But, like you said, the view from the hot tub would have to be tops. We had a hot tub in the room in Istanbul and it was so cool to watch the day slip away while soaking. Loved it.
What a stylish hotel. The lobby looks like it’s a private home and that pool doesn’t look like it should be on a tropical island. I’m planning a trip to the USA and if I make it to Detroit this looks like a great spot to stay.
I’m from the Detroit area and am surprised I’ve never heard of this before! I have some friends from that area who are getting married soon – I should recommend the venue to them. The food looks fantastic, and it sounds like it is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need… even a golf course! So cool that you discovered this.
Looks like you had a great time at St. Johns. Completely loved the ambiance of the dining and the living room. The sunset shot from the room balcony is stunning. The garden is so beautiful did you get a chance to walk around the greenery?
The hotel looks so beautiful and it seems to make both the ladies happy, with the spa, and the gents, with the golf course. Your suite is amazing, I wouldn’t hesitate to relax in that jetted tub every evening, while ending the night with a glass of wine on the balcony.
This definitely looks like an amazing place to stay! I usually don’t do luxury hotels but definitely, I always appreciate them. Never thought something like this could be found somewhere in Michigan!
Wow! A really fancy hotel, would love to stay there, haha:) The garden and the pool are just gorgeous!
I have been to the US a few time but never made it to Michigan. I love a luxury hotel when funds permit lol. I will be sure to keep St Johns in mind when I am next Stateside.
What a lovely property! Your room looked massive as well. Always great to see new places to pin away if ever our travels take us near there!
I love this hotel. I’ve become a fancy traveler and my best place to be would be the bed and the pool. I have this on my list.
This hotel looks so luscious and kind of Victorian-ish too. Very stylish!
Gotta love a luxe hotel for making you feel special! A jetted bathtub sounds amazing. And the sunset, wow!
