Luxury Dining in Detroit

iridescence
On my recent trip to Michigan I was invited by MotorCity Casino Hotel to a blogger event to dine in their restaurant Iridescence. With an unparalleled view of Detroit and a 5 star dining experience, you’ll be wondering why you never ate here before. Put it on your list of paces to dine and try something you have never had before, you won’t regret it.

When my brother and I arrived, we were taken into a room where wine bottles rolled along the enclosed glass and we sipped on champagne and ate delicious meats and cheese from a charcuterie board.

Simply perfect!

The Food:

Beautiful place setting

We had a four course meal while dining at Iridescence and were completely blown away by how perfect everything was – from the service, timely delivery of food, presentation, and the food itself was incredible.
Appetizers:
We wanted to try something we had never had before so we got the Kobe beef sliders and Osetra Caviar. The sliders were grilled to perfection remaining juicy and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The caviar was also delicious – it came with smoked salmon, brioche, crème fraîche, and onions. We tried it several ways and it was good each way – highly recommend both of these appetizers!

Salad:
We opted to try toe house salad since it is special to the restaurant. Field greens, red onions, candied pecans, michigan dried cherries,  and vanilla bean chardonnay vinaigrette make up this masterpiece. The dressing was so light and complimented all the other items in the salad.

Entrees:
We both ordered the same thing for our dinner. Signature Cut “Tomahawk Style” Ribeye – 32 ounces of American wagyu beef. In retrospect, we should have shared this dish – it was more than enough for two people. Wagyu beef in my opinion is the best beef I have ever had – if you have the option to get this cut of meat – definitely go for it. Your knife will slide through it like butter.

Dessert:

How did we even make it this far? We ended up taking a lot of food back with us because we wanted to try the dessert! I for one was so happy they have the melting chocolate sphere on their menu. Its simply brilliant how they pack a dessert inside this chocolate dome and then melt it right in front of you where you can eat it. We shared desserts so we also tried the pineapple upside down cake. If you have a sweet tooth – look no further. Head to Detroit now and order these two items. We weren’t even hungry at this point but we ate them because they were so good.

Overall:
The food was fantastic! I would dine here on every trip to Detroit if I could.

That place makes the city looks great and should be seen more. This is a part of the city that many people are unaware of.

This really is luxury dining! Everything looks delicious and presentation is on point! I myself am not a luxury dining person because I’m still a student, but I do enjoy fine dining every now and then. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for reading. Luxury dining is most affordable at home. When I am not traveling, I almost always eat at home – and I can make whatever for such a smaller cost.

Looks like one fine dining experience. I always loved places with attention to the details and the interior. The ceiling is amazing! The food looks delicious especially the deserts. The melting dome sounds exactly like what I would have ordered as well. I would love to see it melt in front of me. Such a nice little detail to have before indulging into tasty chocolate.

The melting dome is my favorite thing. If I find it anywhere I always order it – so far my count is two.

So much food inspiration here for me. I would love to eat all of this especially the charcuterie but there are also a couple of dessert items that I am going to replicate. How big is that tomahawk steak !!! Yum all round.

My opinions about the Detroit casinos are mixed, but this great restaurant makes me reconsider.
