The Virginia countryside .. feels like a world away from the city. If you need a break from the city, this is your secluded oasis.
I spent the weekend at Goodstone Inn, a luxury property about an hour from Washington, D.C., in Middleburg, Virginia. Surrounded by rolling hills, wineries and beautiful backdrops – this Inn has it all.
Goodstone Inn Courtyard
Goodstone offers 18 luxurious rooms and suites in 6 individual residences throughout the property. All of the buildings are spread out across the grounds, giving you privacy and peace.
I stayed in the Carlyle Junior Suite in the Carriage House. I loved the elegance of the old wood charm, the sitting area, the generously sized claw-foot tub in the bathroom, and the never ending wheel of coffee. This room is located via a private entrance through the main courtyard and had easy access to the restaurant and bar. I was able to walk over and grab a bottle of wine before retreating for the evening.
Side note: this bed was the softest most plush bed I have ever slept in. Made for a greats night of sleep.
Carlyle Junior Suite
My absolute favorite tub to relax in!
The land is absolutely beautiful on the property. The entry way to the pool is covered in ivy and reminded me of old English charm. The pool has these relaxing vibes with a view that cannot be beat. Spend a day here and tell me you are not relaxed. Impossible.

One of the best things to do in the Virginia countryside is to take in the sunsets. It had stormed very hard earlier in the day for about an hour, which meant the sunset was going to be fantastic. Because the land is so open, I was able to marvel at how beautiful the sky was. This is a MUST do if you stay here.

One of the many perks of staying at the Goodstone Inn is the free breakfast! Fluffy croissants and coffee to start off with and a breakfast selection that is out of this world.
Breakfast with a side of motivation
I went with a goat cheese and chive omelette. It came with my favorite side: BACON! The breakfast and service was not only quick and concise, but the food was fantastic!

I would give the Inn 5 out of 5 stars. The staff was a delight to be around and answered all questions. The location is picture perfect – and I achieved exactly what I was after, and that was to relax.
I will definitely be returning in the future.
Disclaimer: Goodstone Inn did host me as their guest but as always, opinions are my own.

This looks like an amazing weekend getaway. Nice and peaceful.
The Inn looks so regal! Would expect to see something like that in an old European city, not somewhere in VA! Awesome photos too (:
OMG this place looks incredible!! Love that old Southern charm 😉 That sunset seriously made me gasp, too! I have cousins who live in Northern Virginia, but I really should explore more of the state! I <3 VA!
Goodstone Inn looks so charming! I love the woodwork and would definitely spend time in that tub. Thansk for sharing your experiences there!
What a gorgeous place! Perfect place for photo sessions. And that bathtub is to die for!
This looks like my sweet spot! When I was last in DC we stayed in the city so this would not have been on my radar. Will definitely consider this if Ai find myself in the area again.
