I am by no means a professional photographer, but I am obsessed with travel and food photography. My Instagram is full of photos from places I visit and food I eat. I have found that taking a photo that I think is good, has become my favorite hobby.

When I first started taking photos, I used my cell phone. At that time, it was an older version of an Iphone. The resolution wasn’t great, but for the time being it worked. The times have changed and resolution on phones is much higher now, creating a more crisp, vibrant photo. Now I use my Iphone 6Plus, a Canon EOS Rebel T6s Digital SLR, GoPro Hero 4, and a Polaroid. My equipment needs its own bag when I travel. But I never regret having options since all of them perform differently.

If I am moving fast and want a photo in a pinch, I use my iPhone.Β  I usually post these photos to Instagram, so I frame them in a square to perfectly fit within the app. Here are a few samples of photos I have taken with my phone:

You can take a variety of photos with your phone. With technology these days, you shouldn’t feel like you need a professional camera. The megapixels on my iPhone is the same as my GoPro.

As for my GoPro – I love the wide angle shots and waterproof capabilities. I love that I can take my GoPro anywhere and I always keep it in my bag. It doesn’t weigh much and I personally like the photos it produces. See some examples below:

Then there is my Canon. It has the highest resolution on it and the most options for capturing photos. It is heavy to carry around with additional lenses, but I love the photo quality. Here are some shots:

You can see that each camera is somewhat different and takes different types of photos. I am strange and like to take all equipment with me. I take way too many photos that no one else ever sees – but I wouldn’t have it any other way! It has become a passion of mine to capture things on my adventures through the world.
