Dubai is very large in terms of places to stay while on vacation. The city boasts many 5 star properties, but only few are on the coveted Palm Jumeirah Island. The island itself is man made and is designed to look like a palm tree with a crescent around it. Sofitel sits almost in the middle of the crescent next door to Atlantis.
The resort, Sofitel Dubai the Palm Resort and Spa, is designed in a Polynesian theme. The hotel offers over 500 rooms, 12 restaurants and bars, room service, shopping, a business center, pools, a spa, access to the beach, and so much more.
The room I was in was a junior suite that faced the palm island. I cannot recommend this room enough. The room comes with a separate living and sleeping area, mini bar and specialty coffee, a balcony with dining and a relaxing couch, a large bathroom with a soaking tub, large closets, separate toilets, rain shower, and high end toiletries by Hermes. One thing that I really loved was that the resort replenished several bottles of water each day in my room for no charge.
I didn’t spend a lot of time in my room because I was out exploring the city but I did get a chance to enjoy the best breakfast I had in all of Dubai on my balcony. Room service delivered my breakfast and I was blown away by all the personal touches. They even left a rose.
In the lobby there is a cafe that has the most delicious coconut macarons and cappuccinos! They even add their logo for a personal touch.
Pool Time!
I am a big fan of their pool because it was a little chilly when I visited (February) and the pool was heated! I spent an afternoon enjoying the outside, swimming, and even had lunch and a few tropical drinks poolside. It was a relaxing day.
You can get your own cabana too if you want!
Travel Tip: Even in February when it is not sweltering hot in Dubai – the sun is still intense. Don’t forget sunblock.
I really enjoyed staying at Sofitel on my trip to Dubai and I would return and try their other properties around the world.
BONUS: If you get a room facing the palm island you get to see the sunrise!
It is foggy/hazy a lot – but beautiful nonetheless.
wow, the views are just stunning! and the room itself i very posh. Purple rugs?! slate floors? first rate all the way.
