If you find yourself on this side of the world, I encourage you to see and do as much as possible. The beautiful architecture, kind people, wonderful service, delicious food, and an experience of a lifetime.
We very much enjoyed our time in Abu Dhabi and we had the perfect girls getaway!
We arrived very early in the morning at Dubai International Airport. From there to Abu Dhabi was about 1.5 hours. So we got a private transfer with SunTransfers from the airport to the door of our hotel in a sedan. One of my concerns was arriving in a foreign country in the middle of the night and having to ride a city bus or taxi so far. SunTransfers was extremely professional and got us to our destination safely.
Where to Stay:
Beach Rotana
Everything about this hotel was great and exceeded my expectations. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that had 2 full bathrooms, a bedroom, balcony, dining room, and a living area. The room came with high end amenities, a plush bed, soaking tub, and plenty of space for the two of us.
The indoor and outdoor spaces were very lovely. We found that we were always amazed at every turn.
Our room came with free breakfast and 2 of the 3 mornings we ate here. They have a wide variety of options at their restaurant Essence for the breakfast buffet. One night for dinner we ate at their Italian restaurant because I love pizza! I found it to be very good 🙂
The customer service at Beach Rotana is topnotch and nothing was overlooked. Overall, we enjoyed our three nights at the resort and would return again in a heartbeat!
What to do:
Big Bus Tour Hop on Hop Off
This is the best way to see the main attractions of the city. I do these tours in almost every major city I visit and have nothing but good things to say about them.
Some of the sights you will see on this tour include:
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque:
A FREE Dhow Corniche Cruise:
A stop at Etihad Towers where you can ride 74 floors in the air to the observation deck for just $10!
And so much more!

Yellow Boats Tour
We did an Emirates Palace, Royal Palaces And Grand Mosque Tour that lasted about 90 minutes. This is a great way to get a different perspective of the city. Rushing through the crystal colored waters is sure to get your heart racing in a good way. We loved this tour because we could see this ever growing city from the water.
TIP: Don’t forget sunscreen! Even if it only feels like 70, the sun will get you.
Where to eat:
We ate really well while visiting Abu Dhabi, but I have 2 favorites.
Li Jiang at the Ritz Carlton and RoseWater Buffet at Etihad Towers.
The duck tacos I had at Li Jiang are on par with the best thing I have ever tasted! Do not miss these.
The RoseWater Breakfast Buffet had so many options – I just tasted everything and it was incredible.
